Candidate for California State Assembly 62nd District
Assembly Candidate Paul Jones has been a resident of California since 1973 after his return from School in Arizona. Paul was honorably discharged from the United States Marine Corp in 1970 from Camp Pendleton California.
Paul Jones is the oldest of four children, Parents Mary and Irving were born in Knoxville Tennessee. Mom and Dad had grown up together since age 6, They were married at age 16 & 17, Moved to the South Side of Chicago one of the poorest sections of Chicago as it still is.
Mom turned 17 in December after giving birth to Paul in November of that year, a young Mom. followed by Brother Robert (deceased, 2022) Sister Sheila and lastly Carl.
Paul Attended Lindbloom High School on the South Side and was one of the last graduating Class in January 1966, four months later along with 7 friends enlisted into the United States Marine Corp.
By 1967 Paul and friends landed in Southeast Asia on his 18th birthday, “Happy Birthday and welcome to Vietnam, his first duty station was Phu Bai, 3rd Marines.
Paul spent 23 months in Combat, wounded in 1968, returned to duty, he came home in 1969, in a very turbulent time for America. Paul is a rated disabled Veteran from his combat duty in Vietnam.
Paul became a studio driver with 399 union, drove for studios as well as Actors in Film and Television, Paul was also on camera in Forest Gump, True Lies, Terminator as well as other film and TV.
Paul left the industry and became a certified computer instructor with LAUSD grades K through 5 for 11 years, LAUSD discounted its instructor program. Paul was brought in as a contract computer instructor for the City of Carson CA as part of their Senior Computer Education program, Paul taught senior citizens computer skills for 9 years until their funding ended.
Paul retired and decided to study Politics, in 2022 Paul ran for Congress in the 44th Congressional district, Paul received a valuable education in Politics, although his lack of experience and not enough funding he lost to the incumbent.
Paul has decided to run for California State Assembly for an open seat in district 62, covering the cities of Huntington Park, South Gate, Lynwood, and Paramount. Bellflower, and “Lakewood” where Paul and his family have lived for the past 23 years.
Paul is Stepping up for his home ready to fight for the people of California as he has fought for his Country before.
